India win Asia Cup 2010

If you look at the over all points of view of the recent tournaments Asia Cup in India is in the top register up to five victories in the finals, while Sri Lanka are the next to follow 4.
The first tournament of the Asia Cup was held in 1984 after the founding of the Asian Cricket Council in 1983 to promote goodwill among Asian countries and was scheduled to be held every two years.
The first edition of the Asian Cup was held in 1984 in Sharjah between India, Pakistan and the newest member of the ICC Sri Lanka. It was a round robintournament that India won by two victories.
When in 1988 India won the title of Sri Lanka and kept the same in 1993 and 1995 to record three consecutive wins in the finals by beating SL.
India, batting first, set Sri Lanka a modest target of 269 to win the Asia Cup final here Thursday.
India scored 268 for six in 50 overs after winning the toss, with opener Dinesh Karthik top-scoring with 66 and useful contributions down the order. Virat Khohli (28), Rohit Sharma (41), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (38), Suresh Raina (29) and Ravindra Jadeja (25 not out) propped up the total.
Lasith Malinga and Thilina Kandamby claimed two wickets each.
